SHIRTS BY MIKE WEBSITE REDESIGN

This project was done during my Treehouse Tech Degree program. You can see the full flow for web and mobile here: Web | Mobile

OVERVIEW

The goal for this project was to redesign the website for shirtsbymike.com, a retail website that sells shirts of their frog mascot, Mike.

PROBLEM

The website was stale and dated, the stakeholders asked for a full revamp to create a better experience both functionally and visually for their users. They were also unable to display a featured shirt item and they really wanted to be able to do this.

AUDIENCE

I determined that the audience for this project was Treehouse students along with frog enthusiasts. For this model I came up with this particular user to create the design with them in mind.

SOLUTIONS

I started taking a look at the branding. The client suggested new branding if necessary so I came up with a new logo and colors to give a more fresh and vibrant look.

I then worked my way through sketches to figure out what might work best and give the best design and function for what the client needs to bring people in and give them a great experience.

From there I took those sketches in to the wireframe stage and really focused down the function of the flow and look of the site.

Once that was settled, I went to the full design stage and mocked up the website. I tried to make it easy for the user, and also provide a fun, fresh design that would leave the user feeling "hoppy" with their experience on the website.

WHAT I LEARNED

In this project I really learned the whole process from learning about the users and taking that information and research to putting it on paper and growing the design through each stage from conception to final design.
